Eggnog Ice Cream (from Vanilla Ice Cream)

  • 1 Pint of Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla (or a good vanilla ice cream of choice) Save the container.

  • 1/2 teaspoon of Rum Flavoring

  • 1/2 teaspoon of Nutmeg

  • 1/2 - 1 package of small packet of Sweet-n-Low (or to taste)

  • 6-8 drops of yellow food coloring (more or less depending on how dark you want the color)

  1. Place the vanilla ice cream in a large bowl. With a large, strong spoon bring the ice cream to a 'soft serve' consistency by stirring

  2. Add rum flavor, nut meg, food color and sweetner to soft ice cream and blend until the color is consistent

  3. Adjust the color and taste if necessary. Some may like sweeter, some may want more nutmeg flavor

  4. Return to original container and place in freezer 2-3 hours

This recipe can be doubled if a larger quantity is needed. However, if you try to make more than 1/2 gallon at a time, the sitrring of the frozen ice cream becomes difficult.
