Pecan Pie Bars

This recipe uses SWEETENED CONDENSED MILK -
NOT EVAPORATED MILK


Ingredients:

  • 2 cups unsifted flour
  • 1/2 cup confectionser's sugar
  • 1 cup cold butter
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 ounce size)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package almond brickle chips or toffee (6 ounce size)
  • 1 cup chopped pecans


Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees for metal or 325 degrees for glass

  1. In medium bowl mix together flour and sugar

  2. Cut butter into flour/sugar mixture until crumbly

  3. Press mixture firmly on bottom of 13 x 9 inch baking pan

  4. Bake 15 minutes in pre-heated oven

  5. While crust is banking, in medium bowl beat sweetened condensed milk, egg and vanilla together

  6. To above mixture add chips and pecans

  7. Spread evenly over baked crust

  8. Bake an additional 25 minutes or until golden brown

  9. Cool, then cut into bars

  10. Store covered in refrigerator
