50% Sugar - Lemon Dessert Bars

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup Splenda® powdered sugar

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup Splenda®
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons grated lemon peel (optional)
  • 2 tablsepoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Splenda® powdered sugar (for topping)


Preheat oven to 350 degrees


  1. Mix flour, butter and 1/4 cup Splenda® powdered sugar together

  2. Press into ungreased square pan (8" x 8" x 2") building up the edges to 1/2 inch

  3. Bake for 20 minutes then remove from oven


  1. Beat granulated sugar, Splenda®, eggs, lemon peel, lemon juice, baking powder and salt until light and fluffy (approx. 3 min.)

  2. Pour mixture over baked crust layer

  3. Bake until no indentation remains when touched in center, approx. 25 mins.

  4. Cool

  5. Sprinkle with Splenda® powdered sugar (optional)

  6. Cut into squares of about 1 inch

Makes 64 one-inch squares.
