
Homemade Spaghetti Sauce
Ingredients:
2 Tablespoons olive oil
1 Medium onion chopped
2 Teaspoons chopped garlic
3 Cups tomato sauce
1/2 Cup canned mushrooms
1 Packet artificial sweetner
2 Tablespoons Italian seasoning
1 Teaspoon garlic powder
1 Bay leaf (remove before serving)
Directions:
In large pot or dutch oven....
Sautee the onion in the olive oil over medium heat until tender.
Reduce the heat to low and add in chopped garlic. Continue to cook until slightly soft
To onions and garlic add remainder of ingredients except for the artificial sweetner.
Cover and continue to cook over low heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring so as not to burn.
Remove bay leaf
To sauce add cooked meatballs or cooked hamburger meat.
Add packet of sweetner and continue to cook over low heat for about 3-4 minutes or until meat is warmed.
Serve over spaghetti.
This recipe has been made without any added sugar or sale, however, flavor can be adjusted according for individual taste.
