Taco Pie

Taco Pie


  • 1 pound lean ground beef

  • 1/2 cup chopped onions

  • 1 envelope taco seasoning of choice

  • 1 can (4 oz.) green chilies (chopped & drained)

  • 1-1/4 cups milk

  • 3/4 cup all purpose biscuit baking mix (we prefer Pioneer)

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 cup shredded cheese (Cheddar, Monterrey Jack, 4-Mexican)

  • Toppings: Tomato, sour cream, lettuce) -


Preheat oven to 400 degrees; grease 10" x 1-1/2" pie plate

  1. Cook beef and onion in skillet until beef is brown, drain

  2. Stir in taco seasoning mix

  3. Spread mixture into greased pie plate and sprinkle chopped chilies over top

  4. In a medium-sized bowl, combine milk, eggs and biscuit mix until smooth

  5. Pour over meat and chilies

  6. Bake in preheated oven for approximately 25 minutes

  7. Remove from oven and sprinkle top with cheese

  8. Return to oven and continue baking 8-10 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

  9. Allow taco pie to rest for 5 minutes and serve with garnishes
